Cordoba Spain

Today we traveled another couple of hours into the city of Cardoba. The view from the bus showed a different facade of the earth compared to the scenery in Morocco. There were rolling green hills everywhere; rich soil that allowed healthy growth for the farmers.

Its another cloudy day as we reached our destination. But we were not detered by the weather and appreciated the view with eagerness and excitement of a tourist.

Our primary spot for today is the Cardoba Cathedral, which was once a mosque. The uniqueness of this historical buidling is that the interior still preserve the Islamic design while it functions as a church.

The design and achitecture of the columns and arch in the photos above for example is typical design found in mosques. In fact a similar design is adopted in the holy mosque of Medina.

We were awed by the intricacies of the ceiling and various part of the church. In deed, whatever religion we practice we cannot help but appreciate the beauty of the archicture and design.

Well, enough of the dark and gloomy interior. Lets browse the street!

One thing for sure, I love how the Europeans decorate their shops as well their apartment windows with flowers.

There are a lot more shots in my camera but the above should suffice.

And of course, we spend sometime at the souvenir shops too. Some of the displays really caught my eyes as they were pretty and colourful. But I usually ended up buying the usual souvenirs; fridge magnets and key chains. Not only because they are small and easy to pack but also because they are the crowd favourite too!

Lets go shopping shall we? Jom!

Granada Spain

For the first time we had a free and easy time. Granada is a beautiful city with splendid architecture and  view of the mountain. I could just sit and drink my coffee all day and watch the world go by. Alas I didnt have thatluxury though.

After seafood lunch we head to the most popular tourist site in Granada. The Al-Hambra. Once a palace for the king during the Islamic empire.

We had fun looking inside the building as well as the garden and its surrounding, amazed with the history and story of it all.

Its another cloudy day hence the photos did not come out very well. Nevertheless I had fun with my camera and chose a few to share on this page.

Hope that you like them too!
Cheers!
