Gibraltar and Torremolinos

Funny thing happen when I was in Spain. I went to UK and back in a matter of a few hours! 😁

I am never good at history but anyhow Gibraltar belongs to Her Royal Majestry the Queen of England. A small little town packed in every space and corner.  Its simply amazing. 😊

And lo and behold there is also a grand mosque beautifully located near the sea. Somehow I felt blessed that we get to perform our afternoon prayers here.

Lunch and dinner was free and easy from now on. There were a few halal places we can choose from and we have no worries of being hungry!

It was already dark by the time we reached our hotel in Torremolinos later on. I could hear the sound of the sea as we were getting ready for bed but I was too tired to check out the view.

The view of the sunrise from the breakfast hall the next morning was super awesome though. The sea was actually quite a distance from the hotel but the silhouette of the palm trees against the orange sky was enough to set the mood for the day.

And we are off to our next destination!

Tangier and Tariffa

It was our last day in Morocco. After a good healthy breakfast we departed and nade our way to Tangier. A little port that opens the way to the nearby countries. I heard so much about the city of Tangier from movies and TV dramas. Alas all we get to see was only the departing end.

It was just a short boat ride across to Spain. Tariiffa. The port of call. The sight below greeted us as we approached the jetty.

I was fascinated by the wind turbine. Above was telephoto shot using my little trusted camera. Which came up to be a pretty decent oicture.

We saw more wind turbines on the bua journey to the city. And the landscape has also changed somewhat. Even the architecture of the building differed from Morocco. The European influence can be seen and felt.

The sea breeze has whet our appetite and we were more than happy to head straight to a lovely restaurant that served halal Moroccon dishes. Now that we are in Spain halal food may not be easily available.

After the heavy lunch we got back on the bus to go to our hotel for the night. The jbus ride took a little detour to Cape Spartel where we view of the ocean where two seas meet. The Mediteran Sea and the Atlantic Sea. We got there just as the sun went down and the biew waa indeed apectacular.

Alhamdulillah. I am always amazed and awed by the beauty of nature created by Allah the Almighty. Certainly one of the perks of travelling which I look forward too.

Adventure in Spain next!

Fes

Fez. A tourist town. And here we did all what the tourists do. We visted a few local attractions including the local market.

Someone pointed out something on a building and I managed to zoom and captured the family of stock and their nests. Awesome!

And of course we were taken to the leather shop, the silk shop, and the tiles shop. As our guide pointed out, we need to help the local industries!

After all the walking and sightseeing and shopping we finally made our way back to the hotel as the sun was going down. It was such an eventful day, with marvelous view and colourful displays.

All in all the happy memories will be etched forever. ❤️

Marakech

It was late in the day when we finally reached Marakech and we headed straight to our accomodation where we stayed for a couple of nights. Its a beautiful hotel with a Moroccan feel to it. From the inside and outside. The travel agency has certainly chosen well for our first port of call as a start of our trip.

The above is the entrance to the hotel and the pictures below are the view which greeated as we enter the lobby and and finally our room. Charming!

With such comfortable abode, we had our much needed rest before the real adventure began the next day.

The whole day on Day 2 took us around the city of Marakech. Visitors will be struck with beautiful achitecture of the building and the surrounding.

We were served a delicious typical local cuisine for lunch which gave us the energy for a walking tour in the afternoon. The red brick colour building is what a common sight and again the beautiful heavy doors caught my eyes.

And of course, we must not miss going to the souk or local market. I love the colourful display and the enchanting items on sale.

It was a tiring but happy day out. Everyone was happy as we made our way back to the hotel. Tomorrow we would head out to another city.

Good bye kitty. Till next time insya-Allah.
